Considered as the founder of Pop Art and its

main representative, Andy Warhol was as fascinating

as he was controversial, and his influence can still be

felt throughout the art world. In the summer of 1967 I

was invited by Waldo Diaz-Balart (Fidel Castro's

brother in law and an artist in his own right) to meet

Warhol at his house in East Hampton, where he

would be filming. Several members of his entourage

were there, including Paul Morrisey, Ingrid Superstar

and Edie Sedgwick. I wasn't sure what to expect and

in the end I was surprised at the professionalism of

everyone involved and specially of Warhol himself.

Firmly in control of the filming, talking to him was an

unalloyed pleasure. I met him a few more times in

the city after that but I lost contact with him after I

went back to Chile. 1967.

______________

Morrisey, Ingrid Superstar y Edie Sedgwick. No
