NEW YORK (SEPTEMBER 18, 2008) - A group  of

Chileans residing in the New York area had an

unforgetable "18" (September 18 is Chile's national day) in

the already legendary Pomaire Restaurant in  46th Street,

near Times Square. There were also some visitors from

elsewhere, like Germany, that were visiting friends.

The revelers started arriving early and by 9:00 PM you

couldn't fit a pin in the place. It was necessary to go out

from time to time to get some fresh air (though smokers

went out to get smoke, of course.) Then it was back to the

"salud's!" and "Viva Chile's!"  inside. Of course there was

dancing and everybody danced. It ended around 3:00 AM,

before the rooster sang.

inolvidable pasamos un grupo de chilenos residentes en

Nueva York (y algunas visitas) en el ya legendario

resturante Pomaire de la calle 46 (cerquita de Times

Square).

Los dieciochanos empezaron a llegar desde temprano

y ya para las 9:00 pm no cabía ni un alfiler en el lugar.

Había que salir a "tomar aire" de vez en cuando (aunque

los fumadores salían a "tomar humo", por supuesto) y

aprovechar a conversar un rato con los que andaban en

las mismas. Y luego volver a los "¡salud!" y "¡Viva Chile!"

del interior. Por supuesto que hubo baile en el que todos

participaron. Todo terminó alrededor de las 3:00 am, antes

que cantara el gallo.
