NEW YORK (SEPTEMBER 23, 2010) -  A group of Chileans of the

New York area protested in front of the Chilean Mission to the UN the

treatment of the Mapuche indians by the Piñera government. Thirty

four Mapuches are in a prolonged hunger strike and at least five of

them are already in critical conditions. The Mapuche are demanding

(among other things) that  the Piñera administration stop using the

Pinochet anti-terrorist law (which has been denounced by the

Organization of American States) and that some of their lands be

returned to them.

NEW YORK (JSEPTIEMBRE 23, 2010) -  Un grupo de chilenos del

área de Nueva York protestaron frente a la Misión de Chile ante la

ONU por el trato del gobierno de Piñera a los indígenas mapuche.

Treinta y cuatro comuneros mapuche están en huelga de hambre y

por lo menos cinco de ellos están en estado crítico. Los mapuche

exigen (entre otras cosas), que el gobierno de Piñera deje de

aplicarles la ley anti-terrorista del gobierno de Pinochet (la que ha

sido denunciado por la OEA) y que les sean devueltas algunas de

sus tierras usurpadas.
