Grant from FONDART / Proyecto FONDART

NEW YORK (JANUARY 14, 2011) - The news which I was

waiting for, anxiously and nervously, finally came in a terse e-

mail from OchoLibros, a publishing house in Santiago:

FONDART, the government funded arts council of Chile, had

aproved our proyect to do a book with my photographs. The

photographs will cover the years 1954 to 1968, both years

included and will try to give of what Chile was during that period.

Incidentally, very little material from that time exists, so the

book has (for the time being anyway) been named "The Erased

Years." Whether that will be the final title is still being debated,

but its certainly a possibility. All in all, around 150 pictures will

be included in the book which will have a soft cover and will be

22 X 27 cm closed (8.6 X 10.6 in), and 44 X 27 cm open (17.3 X

10.6) with a toal of 180 pages including a text by Jorge

Montealegre Iturra.

If everything goes acording to plan, the book should appear

in September or October 2011.

NUEVA YORK (ENERO 14, 2011) - La noticia que esperaba

ansiosa y nerviosamente llegó finalmente el viernes 14 de enero

en un escueto correo-e de la Editorial OchoLibros de Santiago:

el FONDART había aprobado el proyecto de un libro con mis

fotos. Las fotos abarcarán el período de 1954 al 1968, que

representa mi trabajo en Chile, y tratará de dar una visión de lo

que Chile era en ese entonces. Curiosamente, hay poco

material de esa época, por lo que el libro se llamará (por ahora

al menos) "Los años borrados". No hay garantías de que ese

sea el título final, pero ciertamente que es una posibilidad.

Alrededor de 15 fotos serán incluídas en el libro de tapa blanda

y de 22 X 27 cm cerrado, y 44 X 27 cm abierto, con un total de

180 páginas, incluyendo un texto de Jorge Montealegre Iturra.

Si todo marcha de acuerdo a los planes, el libro debiera

aparecer en septiembre u octubre de 2011.
