NEW YORK (OCTOBER 29, 2010) - The last time I had seen

Gabriel and Paula and the children together was in 1997 when I

was still at the Broadway-Crosby loft and Gabriel was in New York

doing a post graduate course in New York at Columbia University

school of medicine. My niece Paula and their children, Max and

Mijhal, were also with him and we saw them quite often. After

Gabriel finished his studies they returned to Chile and eventually

Paula and Gabriel separated. Then I went to Santiago in 2002 to

see my ailing mother and visited Paula at her house. Back in New

York I kept in touch with Paula through Facebook and that is how I

learned of her children's visit to New York this year. And what a

delight it was! This time Gabriel came with his girlfriend Francisca

and her son Nicolás, whom I met when we went to have dinner at

Rubs. All in all, a visit that made me inmensely happy.

NUEVA YORK (OCTUBRE 29, 2010) - La última vez que había

visto a Gabriel y mi sobrina Paula y los niños juntos fue en 1997

cuando todavía vivía en el loft de Broadway-Crosby y Gabriel

había venido a Nueva York a hacer unos estudios de postgrado

en la escuela de medicina de la Universidad de Columbia.

Durante esos meses nos visitamos bastante seguido. Al finalizar

los estudios de Gabriel se volvieron todos a Santiago y

eventualmente Paula y Gabriel se separaron. En 2002 yo fui a

Santiago a ver a mi madre que estaba muy enferma y visité a

paula en su maravillosa casa en Santiago. De vuelta en Nueva

York seguí en contacto con Paula a través de Facebook y asi fue

como supe de la visita de Gabriel y sus hijos a Nueva York este

año. ¡Y que delicia de visita que fue! Estas vez Gabriel vino con su

novia Francisca y Nicolás, el hijo de esta, a quienes conocí

cuando fuimos a comer todos juntos al restaurante Rubs. Al final

de cuentas,  una visita que me hizo inmensamente felíz.
